Box-o-Mania Fire Station No7 Play Box Kit ReviewI bought this for my 3 and 5 year old sons as as Christmas pressent from their grandparents. It was a HUGE hit. It's large - you need some space to set it up and first time assembly is definitely a two person job although I suspect it gets easier. The first time you actually have to bend the pieces to get them to fit together, but once creased, they stay creased. It comes with a large storage box that you can break the play house down and store it in.
It appears to be made of a thick plastic. Once together, it stays together pretty well with nice solid velcro tabs. Both of the kids fit easily inside. They take a camping lantern and radio inside and hang out forever. We got the firehouse version. It comes with large beautiful stickers that can be rearranged and reused.
Overall I'm very happy with this purchase. No idea how long it will last as we just got it, but it appears to have staying power. The kids especially love having their own little space - we set it up in the bonus room and they crawl inside and "disappear". It's large enough for a small adult to hang out for a little while as well.
Huge hit!Box-o-Mania Fire Station No7 Play Box Kit Overview

Box-o-Mania MyPlace Play Box Kit ReviewWe purchased this playhouse for my 4 year old daughter for Christmas and she absolutely loves it! She has not played with many of her other gifts yet because she has been so excited to play in her new house. I was a little nervous buying this playhouse when I couldn't find any reviews on any site but decided to take a chance. I'm glad I did. This house feels large and does take up quite a bit of room, but it comes in a box that you can use for storage if needed. Though, I wouldn't want to put this house together frequently. It was easy assembly, but a second person is highly recommended to help line up the velcro. As for the material, I was expecting a thicker, more sturdy material, because the pictures make it look that way. The white is actually semi-transparent, you can see light and the outline of the stickers from the outside, but not so much to be a big negative, and after a while it didn't bother me at all since the interior is bright with no extra light needed. The sturdiness is very similar to it's corrugated cardboard box counterpart, but once the entire house is assembled everything is sturdy enough for playtime. And over time, this playhouse will be quite durable. The stickers are very cute. They are removable and durable, but I don't know if they'd stand up to a child who constantly moves stickers around. We did move several stickers a few times with no problems. Now that my daughter has them where she wants them, they will probably stay there, so we won't have any issues. Another thing I was worried about was if the edges would be sharp and a potential for scratches and cuts. I would say that for the most part, no. The edges are just like when you cut cardboard boxes, and a few edges were a little rough, but I tried giving myself a scrape and could not do it. Her play plastic kitchen (which now resides inside her playhouse) has much sharper edges than this playhouse. So I have no worries anymore. One small issue is that the door doesn't stay shut... not a big deal, but we will probably add a simple latch so it doesn't swing about. We have not yet tried any markers on it, so I can't comment on that. Overall, I am very please with this purchase, and my daughter loves it.Box-o-Mania MyPlace Play Box Kit Overview

Little Tikes Clubhouse Swing Set ReviewRead all the other reviews, on Amazon, Toys R Us and the Little Tikes site, before purchasing Little Tikes Clubhouse Swingset via Amazon. It was in stock, shipped promptly, qualified for free shipping (saved over $90!!!), arrived in good condition and had all the parts -- nothing missing. My step-son-in-law is very handy & logical, and got it together in one afternoon, and our 1 1/2 year old grandson loves it!
From reading the other reviews about how small it is once it's up, I was concerned that we would find the same thing. However it's pretty much the size that you'd expect if you take a good look at the promotional photos, and from the pictures that we've been sent, it should be good for at least 3 - 4 more years, and only outgrown at kindergarten age. Then they can sell it (if cared for, the sets retain good resale value)!
Very happy with the purchase!Little Tikes Clubhouse Swing Set OverviewA backyard swing set with built in playhouse and sliding board! Kids will get years of enjoyment from this fun and durable swing set. Climb to the platform two different ways - slide down and do it again! This outdoor play set turns your backyard into a playground! The Clubhouse Swingset is designed for hours of backyard fun. Know that your kids are safe playing in durable clubhouse & sturdy swingset from Little Tikes.

Winchester Playhouse - Cute and Cool ReviewThe Backyard Discovery Winchester Playhouse has provided my daughter hours of enjoyment. She loves her "Playhouse" and has cooked endless meals, answered the phone, and pressed the doorbell thousands of times. Our daughter is 2 years old and she is very happy with her playhouse.
Features-
- Rot resistant cedar wood
- Clock hanging on the wall
- Phone
- Stove
- Sink
- Side lemon stand/ picnic stand
- Bay windows
- Doorbell
- Cedar countertop
Building
- If at all possible this is a two person assembly - in some areas you will struggle trying to assemble by yourself
- Total time to assemble - 6-8 man hours - working together two people can probably do it in 4 hours
- Will be a challenge if you are a very large person - some of the assembly is done inside the playhouse
- Many of the holes need to be pre-drilled the cedar is very split prone
- The directions are poor - the screws and parts are labeled but not very clearly
- A few of the assemblies needed to be reinforced and were not sturdy out-of-the-box
- Make sure you have a good cordless screw-driver / driverFinal Verdict - The Backyard Discovery Winchester Playhouse is the perfect playhouse for our daughter - she really could not be happier. While the assembly was not something I enjoyed I do realize that we will get many years of play out of this playhouse

Little Tikes Seek & Explore Expedition Climber ReviewI was really excited to get this for our soon-to-be two year old for the backyard. He generally loves to climb and we thought this would be endless entertainment throughout the summer. Not so much. He was very excited about it the first day or two, but after a week or so, it's almost as if we have to remind him it's there for him to play on. First, it's much smaller than it seems in the picture, so that is somewhat disappointing. The slide has a very abrupt curve at the bottom, so his feet hit the bottom of the slide and stop him before his bottom hits the end, which means he basically slides for about 8 inches! Also, it's just held together by screws in plastic, and at times it seems a tad less sturdy than I would have liked. Our little guy is a bit above average in size (27 lbs) and when he stands on the orange landing to climb up, you can see it bow in the center, so I'm not sure how it could handle a 6 year old, as stated. I'm also not sure how it will hold up in a move (we are a military family and move often) - I fear the stress on the plastic where the screws are may not withstand the summer from moving it weekly to mow the lawn. Otherwise, it was rather simple to put together by myself and took less than 30 minutes. I would not buy again.Little Tikes Seek & Explore Expedition Climber OverviewOutdoor Toys by Little TikesFill the backyard with the sound of childhood delight with outdoor toys from Little Tikes. Step2 Naturally Playful Woodland Climber ReviewOur almost 3 year old son was thrilled when he got this climber today. He can climb the small rock wall but not the tall one yet so there's room to grow. A friend's 15 month old had fun climbing up the stairs and down the slide repeatedly, and our 5 and 6 year old neighbors kept climbing up and jumping off, having a ball. All in all, a great climber for a variety of ages. It was a hot day and they all liked taking a break by laying in the shady "fort" underneath. The colors are really nice and it blends into our yard and patio well. Now we just need to get mulch or something for underneath of it.Step2 Naturally Playful Woodland Climber OverviewStep2 Naturally Playful Woodland ClimberThis sturdy climber provides fun that stands out by blending in. Discovery Kids Cardboard Color Me Play House ReviewI bought this on sale at a store for $20. My kids are having a great time coloring it and playing in it, but it isn't going to last long--it is fairly sturdy, for cardboard, but it is cardboard after all. I am pleased by how the cardboard takes markers--they show up nice and bright. And considering what it is, it is well-made. I am going to take some clear packing tape to the bottom pieces tomorrow to try to make it last longer. Oh, and it's really quite big! I wouldn't want to pay more than $20 dollars for it, though.Discovery Kids Cardboard Color Me Play House Overview

Crafty Kids Creation Cottage ReviewAfter seeing a cardboard house similar to this while visiting a friend's home, I took the leap and purchased The Creation Cottage. The Cottage was quite easy to assemble, with simple, easy to understand directions. I put it in my backyard (knowing there was no forecast for rain) and my three kids (8, 6, & 2) grabbed their markers and crayons and started drawing. Each kid took a side and the results were great. They alternated between coloring and playing house, and now, after a week of use there's still plenty of blank space for coloring. I especially liked the sun shaped sunlight. My only complaint, and it's very slight, is that I had to use packaging tape on just a few of the joints to make sure it could take some rough play (carrying it around pretending it was on an iceberg). Lastly, I like knowing that when we're ready to say goodbye to this toy I can easily recycle it, rather than sending another plastic toy to the landfill.Crafty Kids Creation Cottage Overview10001 Features: -Creation cottage. -Material: 100pct Recycled cardboard. -Unique design allows for a sturdy drawing surface. -Blank canvas exterior. -Provide hours, days, even weeks of fun. -Allows child to create their own home. -Perfect for birthday parties, play dates and rainy day fun. -Made in the USA.

Little Tikes Endless Adventures Rock Climber and Slide ReviewThe little tikes adventures rock climber and slide is definitely the perfect toy for a little toddler. It was pretty simple to put together but did take some arm strength as most of the little tikes toys do. My son is 18 months old and likes the slide a lot. It actually stops him at the end before he falls on the ground which both he and I like a lot. It is also good for kids older - about 3 to 4 years but after that, height is a problem for older kids. The taller they are the less fun the climber and slide are.Little Tikes Endless Adventures Rock Climber and Slide OverviewWe've designed the perfect backyard jungle gym for toddlers. This climber includes a rock wall, sliding board and plenty of places to crawl, hide and climb. Every one of our climbers is built with our legendary quality and durability. Step2 Naturally Playful Playhouse Climber & Swing Extension ReviewIf you're looking at plastic sets in this price range, stop looking: this is the best there is.
Set up wasn't too bad, took 2 of us maybe a couple hours (tops). As another reviewer said, the boxes are huge - couldn't close the tailgate in our SUV, but they did fit (somewhat angled) in our minivan.
The play options are perfect for our 2 year old. The slide isn't too short (as many of the Little Tikes options were), it accomodates a toddler bucket swing (though it does not come with one), and saves us from buying a seperate playhouse as well.
The plastic is very sturdy (much wider/thicker than the competition's) and the 'naturally playful' color option means it doesn't 'scream' from the backyard. It blends quite nicely.
We expect to get several more years out of this one, and then to recover some of our cost by reselling it at a local consignment sale. VERY worth our outlay!
UPDATE 11/29/2010: More than 5 years later, and it's still going strong! My kids mostly use it for the swings now, and they are beginning to get a bit 'small' for them (don't swing high enough, etc) - but they are 4.5yo and almost 8yo now. I would never have guessed that it would last us this long. It has faded a bit from the sun, but evenly (not patchy) and the colors are still pleasing overall. We definitely feel like we've gotten our money's worth out of it!Step2 Naturally Playful Playhouse Climber & Swing Extension OverviewKids will love exploring this multi-sided climb, slide and hide activity gym with two swings. In the playhouse, the top level features a roomy deck leading to large 5.5' slide that can easily be attached to the Step2 Big Splash Center, not included. Playhouse also comes with a kid-sized door and crawl-through portals. Swing Extension features two adjustable swings with high sides for security.
The entire Playhouse Climber and Swing unit features soothing, natural colors that blend in with traditional landscapes in residential outdoor living areas. Lock-together design assembles easily with minimal hardware. Adult assembly required. Coordinates with other products from the Step2 Naturally Playful collection. Measures 115"L x 110"W x 75"H. Holds up to 200 pounds.

Step2 Play Up Double Slide Climber ReviewI bought this for my daughter who is two, she loves it. This was really easy to set up and having two slides, two sizes workes out really well. She doesnt get board on it, the climber, wheel, and even under the play structure is like a little secret fort for her. Our daughter who is seven can play on this with her at the same time & there is plenty of room for both of them to be on it at the same time & it doesnt budge as far as tipping...solid. We live in townhouses with only contrete backyard, I bought the big childrens pads for saftly precautions, which worked out really well...I recommend buying them to put at the end of the slides if you dont have grass in your backyard. It was a great purchase!. I bought the step two table to go with this & the extra two chairs all the step two products are good quality and durable. Thank you step two our girls loves your products, great job designing.Step2 Play Up Double Slide Climber OverviewLarge, two tiered platform with two slides, climbing wall and ladder with hand holds, and steering wheel that rotates. 61 H. x 84" L. x 53" W. Yookidoo Discovery Playhouse ReviewThere is another listing for this product on amazon (same product) and there is a one star review there. I am more in agreement with that review than with the ones I read here.
it is a cute toy and there are lots of things to do. but there are a couple of negatives which make me wish we didn't spend the money. first, the ramps for the balls always pop out and they are not simple to get back in. second, although it is fairly easy to fold up, it still takes up A LOT of space when folded at least half the amount of space as the dome when fully assembled. and you can't pop it back into the box at that point, because it won't fit. you have to lean it against a wall and it is always falling over (even when you use the plastic piece they suggest to clip it together).
my 3 and 7 year old kids were more interested in the toy than my 1 year old.
just thought I would provide this alternate view, since all the other reviews seemed so glowing.Yookidoo Discovery Playhouse OverviewWatch your baby thrill to this adorable playhouse.Offers hours of stimulating funDoubles as a quiet hideawayRoomy enough for multiple childrenActivities on both the inside and outsideIncludes ball play, shape sorting and peek-a-boo gamesEngages the senses with color, light and soundEncourages rewarding, imaginative play and physical developmentFabric construction is sturdy yet lightweight Stable, folding frame for easy storage and portabilityAssembles easilyThere's so much to learn, enjoy and share with this colorful playhouse.
